Hey there... Nothing to show at the moment, although I did manage to get into Spotlight today and get some gorgeous material to make my step daughters bag for Christmas. Now to just work out what pattern to make for her, maybe I'll just stick with the backpack like I did for her big sister. This is the material that I got for her anyway...

Christmas Advent blog a long December 1st...
Wow who can believe that we are here on the 1st December.. How quick has this year gone???
Well I've got another 2 things almost of my list. I've cut out part of the Rock n Roll Skirts for the girls. Due to the majority of the back of the pattern written in double dutch, both Mum and I under guessed the amount of material that I needed. So I only got 1mtr of each material instead of 2. I've cut out half the skirts each, and will head to Spotlight on Thursday to get some more, and finished them off. Hopefully I'll get them finished in time, as the girls are arriving next Sunday night. :)

Photo's at last.
Whoo hooo...
Now that I've got my camera AND internet back (don't ask about the net side of the things) I can post a few photos..
This is the pile of squares that I said I've been cutting up over the past few days. Now that they're all cut out I can start sewing, and might even do that tonight with a few good DVD's. I'm kid and hubby free tonight, so perfect excuse to sit down with the sewing machine.. yay....

And the place mats. This is 52 cut out, I still have another 8 to do, and another 10 lots of border to cut out, but ran out of the border, so will have to wait till I can get to spotlight in the next week or so to get some more.. Such a HUGE project, not sure if I'll do quite as much next year, but will wait and see.

Look at all that sewing that I have to do. Luckily there isn't too much more to cut out, and sewing them together is quite easy!

Dora Dress.
I have finished the little girl dress that I've been working on for the past 24 hours. I went to spotlight yesterday and found some "Dora" material, and thought that it would be perfect for a little girl's birthday that we're going to on Saturday. I also found a really cute dress pattern to make, so bought both. Spent all day yesterday tracing and cutting out the pattern and material, and then last night sewing it together. This morning was spent doing the finishing touches. I'm really happy with the way it turned out, especially for my first proper clothing pattern.

New project...
Thought I'd pop in quickly before the computers get packed up, and show off my newest project. Skip and I went to spotlight on Friday morning, and I came home with some gorgeous pink materials. So thought I'd make a patchwork quilt cover for a little girl's birthday, unfortunately I can't say who it's for as I know that they read my blog!! But I can deffinately put photos of it up as it comes along!! :)
I haven't done too much of it, as at the moment I'm having to do everything by hand, cutting it out with scissors, then hand sewing it, all because my computer is over at my Mum's in storage for the next 48 hours until we move!! :( But when we've moved and settled, I'm going to get right in and finish it off, being that I only have until the end of June to get it done will mean lots of nights working on it...

Bags for my daughters...
After making all of these bags, both my step daughters asked if they could have one. So off to spotlight yet again I went, and found some pretty funky stuff..
I got "Bratz" for Miss P who is 10, and lips/I love you material for Miss K who is almost 13. These are the final products. I also made up a little shopping/sports bag for Miss K, as she plays a lot of soccer, so I thought that the bag would be perfect for all her soccer stuff before and after games/training.

I sent the bags to the girls a few weeks ago, and apparently they LOVE them. So I was absolutely thrilled to hear that.

A new hand bag and shopping bag!!!
Mum decided a few weeks ago that she wanted a new handbag made up. So off we went to Noarlunga Spotlight.. And she found a really nice brown thick material..
So I had a fun time making her a new bag.. This is what I came up with. You can't see it on the bag, but the top flap actually comes off. The back has a strip of velcro, so that depending on Mum's mood, she can interchange the top flap! It's pretty cool!!!

Then to go inside I made this shopping bag. And as you can see it folds up quite neatly to fit inside the bag without taking up too much room. It's based on the same measurements as the Green shopping bags that you get from Coles/Woolies. As here in South Australia all shops are now plastic bag free.
